Navigating the transfer admission process
The mission of the Admission Transfer and Processing team is to create clear pathways for transfer students to inquire, apply, and enroll at NKU. Transferring can be an overwhelming process, but it doesn't have to be. Let our transfer team assist you as you take the next steps towards your future aspirations. We welcome your application and look forward to working with you.
- NKU's academic calendar includes a traditional 16-week fall and spring semester, and a summer semester that varies in length, from eight weeks to three week sessions. You can transfer to NKU even if your school is on a trimester or quarter calendar. We accept transfer credits from regionally accredited and foreign institutions.
-
Coursework completed with a grade of D or better quality will be evaluated. Only hours of credit are transferable; grade point averages do not transfer, and will not be calculated. Courses judged to be remedial or developmental in content will not be considered for credit.
-
You can learn how the courses you have taken will transfer to NKU; receive an unofficial evaluation of your course work online using our Transfer Equivalency Determination System. An official evaluation of your incoming coursework will be completed once all official transcripts are received from all previously attended institutions.
- Review transfer student deadlines and qualifications for transfer awards and scholarships.
- Apply for admission and submit all necessary credentials. Once all materials have been received an admission decision will be made in 10 -14 business days. Acceptance materials will include a list of course equivalencies, academic advisor information, and registration procedures.
